What Is the Blood Moon Event in Grow a Garden?
The Blood Moon event is a special variant of the Nightfall weather cycle in Grow a Garden. It was introduced on May 17, 2025 as part of the Lunar Glow Event update, which brought a new lunar-themed platform, the Wise Old Owl NPC, Lunar Points currency, and several exclusive mutations to the game.
When the Blood Moon rises, three things happen simultaneously:

Any crops in your garden during the Blood Moon can receive the Bloodlit mutation. Bloodlit is a variant of Moonlit — it gives higher sell prices and counts as double points for the Wise Old Owl Lunar quest.
The Blood Moon Shop appears near the Wise Old Owl — look for a red Owl standing on a tombstone-like structure. The shop stocks items not available anywhere else in the game.

How to Find and Trigger the Blood Moon Event
Watch for the Night Cycle
Night Cycles happen every hour and last 10 minutes. Keep the game open and watch for the sky to darken. The Blood Moon has a 1 in 3 chance of replacing standard Moonlit weather during any Night Cycle.
Spot the Red Moon Icon
When Blood Moon triggers, a red moon icon appears in the bottom right corner of your screen and the sky turns dark red. This is your signal — you have 10 minutes from this point.
Go to the Shop Immediately
